Sometimes we have to channel the time and energy we invest in others into ourselves.
I would never go as far as labelling myself the bestest friend in the world, but I’m a damned good one and loyal too. In recent moons, I’ve come to realise that the emotional energy and support I’ve shown to others isn’t reciprocated back to me. At times, it hurts but I get it… Everybody likes to look out for No 1 these days, and they have every right to. However, whenever I put myself first; invest in the things that make me happy, I’m accused of falling out with people, being selfish, a bitch.
Just because you don’t respect or give a damn about me, don’t expect me not to love and respect myself.

This reflection comes from something TV Judge, Judy Sheindlin says very often on her show, and it’s true. If something somebody tells you makes no logical sense, it’s most likely to be bullshit.

I came up with this quote after seeing some ruthless actions from the family and friends of a dear person I once knew.
Someone recently asked me why many writers are struggling to get their work noticed and I came up with this little quip. Writers are still being successful and people are still reading, but in this “electronically digital” age, videos are the in thing. People want fast fixes, they haven’t got time to read and their brains are too engaged to hold the attention of what the writer is trying to tell them.
This quote reflects the saying ‘you get out of life what you put into it’. If you’re surrounding yourself with negative people that do bad things and/or treat you badly, then you’ve got to expect crap things will happen in your life. If you’re willingly leading a life of sin and destruction, if your actions don’t catch up with you, Karma certainly will.
Today’s quote comes from entrepreneur, Russell Simmonds. People are too quick to judge and scold a person who’s continuously struggling, instead of offering words of encouragement and support.
Life is full of bullies, from the playground, in the home, in your workplace and throughout the journeys of life. A bully will always pick out your weaknesses, but don’t ever let them crush your strengths. Use them to fight back and keep strong.
